What you’ll do: As a Project Regulatory Specialist, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that our transmission projects meet all environmental and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be essential in navigating the complex landscape of federal, state, and local regulations, working closely with government agencies, consultants, and stakeholders to secure the necessary permits and ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Environmental Stewardship
Prepare comprehensive environmental reports and documentation for transmission and related facilities.
Stay informed of Rural Utilities Services (RUS), Federal and State agency requirements, ensuring our projects align with the latest standards.
Maintains communication with Federal, State, County and local governmental agencies concerning environmental documents and provides necessary information needed to obtain permits.
Assist with the selection, development and monitoring of contracts with environmental consultants to include participation in environmental and routing studies as needed.
Regulatory Compliance
Prepare and submit reports in accordance with PUCT Substantive Rules, keeping our operations aligned
Monitors various governmental requirements and related rules, including TCEQ, PUCT, FERC, ERCOT and MISO, in areas of responsibility and keep management informed of changes affecting development and operations of the transmission system.
Supervise consultants in the selection of proposed transmission line routes and substation sites and the preparation of Transmission Line Routing Studies for CCN applications.
Responsible for the setup, handling and operation of civic leaders and public meetings required in support of Transmission Line CCN Applications and to analyze and incorporate the information received at the meetings.
Provide expert testimony in CCN cases and supports/sponsors the entire CCN application and exhibits as needed if determined necessary by Manager of Project Regulatory Compliance.
Maintain good working relations with Consultants, Contractors, Vendors, Local, State and Federal officials, attorneys and member cooperative personnel.
Assist with monitoring and updating SPCC plans.
Responsible for required field monitoring of TCEQ-required SW3Ps and required environmental site surveys.

What you’ll bring: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or environmental studies with five (5) years of experience in environmental and/or regulatory processes.
