The Center: The Sex Offense Litigation and Policy Resource Center was founded in 2017 and is supported with funding from the Vital Projects Fund. Located at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul it is directed by President and Dean Emeritus, Eric S. Janus. The Center seeks to support lawyers, social scientists, advocates, and academics engaged in impact litigation and policy reform work on post-conviction "regulatory" laws affecting individuals who have been convicted of sex-related offenses in the past. These laws include registration and notification laws, residency and internet restrictions, and so-called civil commitment laws.
