DESCRIPTIONThis position provides professional assistance to senior managers in the management of a comprehensive intellectual property program for the campus. Responsible for evaluating moderately complex invention portfolios of engineering, physical science, and life science inventions in various stages of development, tangible research materials, software, and copyright materials developed at UC San Diego for their technical utility, commercial potential, and available protection under federal and state statutes. Using personal contacts and professional experience, targeting potential licensees or other business partners, conducts preliminary negotiation of the terms and conditions for the transaction and drafts the necessary contract to complete the licensing of UC S
