The City of Durango, Colorado (pop. 19,500), is located along the Animas River in southwestern Colorado at the foot of the San Juan Mountains and east of Mesa Verde National Park. Durango is in the four corners region of the United States and offers residents a dense suburban feel with stunning natural surroundings, rugged geography, and world class recreational opportunities. Durango is seeking a City Attorney to serve as chief legal advisor to the City Council and city departments; and to provide legal representation for the City, its Council, agents, committees, and departments. The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council and will oversee a department operating budget of $610,000. The starting salary range for this position will be $175,000 to $200,000
