Intellectual Property Officer
Major Duties: General Summary: The Intellectual Property Officer (IPO) will manage the intellectual property portfolio of the university. Plan, coordinate, and manage all intellectual property (IP), technology transfer, and research commercialization activities for the University including IP disclosures, patents, licensing, and company formation. Work closely with faculty, staff administrators, and external organizations. - Identify, evaluate, and protect researcher's intellectual properties. Includes outreach to faculty to stimulate disclosures, guide faculty on protection processes, evaluation of prior art/patent research activities, extensive interaction with patent attorneys and consultants. May assists with determination of possible commercial value and licensing
