This role is a great opportunity for a seasoned claims professional with experience handling liability and property claims, including litigation, preferably within a public entity or risk pooling environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and confident in evaluating claims, assessing coverage, and applying California tort and insurance law.
What You’ll Do:
Manage all phases of assigned liability and property claims from initial contact through resolution, including litigation management
Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate claims; determine coverage, liability, and damages
Set and maintain accurate reserves and prepare timely claim reports and documentation
Coordinate with defense counsel, vendors, excess carriers, and other stakeholders
Communicate clearly and professionally with members, claimants, attorneys, and internal teams

Claims Adjuster II (non-exempt): The JPIA anticipates hiring at $103,400, which represents the top of the first third of the established salary range, $88,628 - $132,942.
Claims Adjuster III (exempt): The JPIA anticipates hiring at $114,133, which represents the top of the first third of the established salary range, $97,828 - $146,743.

This position is located in Roseville, CA, and is full time, 40 hours per week, with hours from 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Flexible work hours might be available.
