Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Program Coordinator II. Rutgers Law School invites applications for a paralegal to begin immediately in the Clinical Program of the Newark location of the law school. The position is grant-funded, however, we have secured funds for at least three years. The paralegal will support the work of all of the clinics in a variety of subject areas. The paralegal will be responsible for case intake; data entry and case management; supporting clinic faculty, attorneys, and law students enrolled in the clinics; and quarterly reporting to the funder, among other tasks.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
Intake cases.
Conduct initial fact gathering;
Schedule appointments, generally assist attorneys and law students with case related tasks;
Assist with document preparation and court filings; conduct basic research as assigned by attorneys;
Communicate with other agencies and legal service providers and maintain information regarding referral options.
Create spreadsheets to track cases and outcomes; enter data; process in-going and out-going mail; assist in preparation of quarterly grant reports.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of program design and execution, coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach.
Also requires a minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function that includes coordination of work and management of people; good communication skills; and computer literacy.
