Under the general direction of the Sr. Manager of Billings & Collections, the Billing and Collections Manager is responsible for managing the Billing and Conflicts teams.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Works closely with the Sr. Billing & Collections Manager on firm initiatives and ongoing projects
Manages, mentors, and motivates staff in a Hybrid work environment
Analyzes and implements policies and procedures as needed to adhere with Client billing guidelines and Attorney requests
Ensures deadlines are met and that work is completed accurately and effectively
Provides proper training on all billing, collections and conflicts functions as needed
Organizes back-up support structure to ensure continuity of service in the event of employee absences
Monitors workload distribution and identifies areas for improvement
Oversees monthly billing and collections to meet firm goals
Maintains firm records as they relate to Conflicts/Collections and Billing
Posts cash on a daily basis
Oversees the e-billing reports and works with Billing Coordinators to ensure that all reductions, rejections and appeals are being handled in a timely basis
Communicates with Firm Management to report any issues that may result in delay of meeting billing and collections deadlines and goals
Works on multiple projects as needed
Works closely with internal and external clients to address inquiries as they arise
Escalates issues to Sr. Billing & Collections Manager as needed
Assists with firm system upgrades and initiatives
Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
BA/BS degrees in business, accounting, or other related fields preferred, but not required.
Experience in law firm billing, conflicts, and compliance related work required
Demonstrated use and knowledge of Conflicts and Intake software solutions, including selection and implementation of new systems.
Understanding of the billing process, billing systems, finance systems accounting principles, budgeting and forecasting in a law firm setting preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
General knowledge of office equipment and tools.
Strong Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and various document management tools.
Ability to build rapport with attorneys and professional staff.
Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
The ability to work independently but within a team environment.

Position Details
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, exempt level position. Final rate of pay will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, with a targeted hiring range of $100,000.00 – $125,000.00 annually (the upper range reserved for highly qualified applicants). This position is currently available in our CT office location only.
