Rutgers University- Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Program Coordinator I for its law school, clinical program. The Rutgers Law School Clinical Program is a pioneer in clinical education where law student and attorneys provide legal information, assistance, and representation for low to moderate-income clients. All student clinical casework is principally supervised by full-time Rutgers Law faculty. The program coordinator will provide administrative assistance directly under the Director of Clinical Administration.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
Assist the Director with overall clinical operations and management as well as assume a leadership role in the Director's absence.
Provide back up to clinic administrative staff and clinic students
Administer reimbursements, purchase orders, and facility work orders from clinical faculty and staff.
Handle expense management and travel arrangements of clinic faculty and staff.
Assist the Director with event planning and office management.
Assist the Director with semesterly registration efforts and recruitment.
Coordinate and liaise with other departments within the law school and Rutgers University such as computer services, parking, facilities, finance, and procurement.
Perform a variety of advanced word processing and spreadsheets on databases for standard reporting.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach.
Also requires a minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function, good communication skills, and computer literacy.
