Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist with immigration document preparation and exhibits for immigration cases, including compiling and photocopying immigration case filings and preparing client correspondence;
Communicate with clients in writing, via telephone and in client meetings;
Prepare documents and exhibits for immigration cases, including, motions, contracts, applications, affidavits or declarations, forms and general correspondence for attorney signature;
Prepare legal documents including, motions, contracts, applications, forms and general correspondence for attorney signature;
Utilize specialized immigration software to send/complete client questionnaires and populate forms;
Prepare, compile, photocopy and file documents with government agencies and offices within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of Labor;
Manage/drive PERM application process and ensure employer regulatory compliance
Respond to client inquiries, investigate case status and follow-up;
Input and update client data;
Organize and track case files including opening and closing case files and managing case status;
Characteristics and Skills: Requires an organized individual with strong critical thinking skills who is able to perform a variety of tasks and work independently. Must have strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills; a demonstrated commitment to serving immigrant populations; and a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally. Individual must have excellent time management skills; the ability to work under pressure and against deadlines; be able to perform basic legal research, prioritize workload and have an impeccable eye for detail.
Experience Qualifications:
Minimum 1-3 years of experience as an immigration paralegal
Demonstrated good writing skills
Creative, self-directed and motivated
Knowledge of basic office equipment and computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet)
