Hiring salary is dependent upon experience. The expected hiring range for this position is $120,00.00 - $155,000.00 /annual.

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado within 60 days of hire. At least five years’ experience as a practicing attorney is required; eight years’ experience including work for municipal government or work in a required field of specialty is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. Must possess a valid driver’s license or be able to arrange for timely transportation to alternate work locations.
Knowledge of:
Principles and procedures of municipal, state, federal, civil, business, and constitutional law.
Charter, ordinances, codes, policies, procedures, practices, and activities of the City.
Any required legal specialty of the position.
Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct, judicial procedures and rules of evidence.
Techniques and resources for conducting legal research.
Skills in:
Proven conflict resolution and mediation skills.
Reviewing, reading, interpreting, and clearly explaining facts, abstract concepts, and law to a variety of audiences.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong time and task management skills.
Ability to:
Analyze and organize conflicting and ambiguous facts and evidence.
Read, interpret, and analyze complex legal documents.
Show discretion to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, employees, and the public.
