The Iowa Utilities Board is seeking a Utility Attorney 2 in its Regulatory Law section to fill a permanent, full-time, contract, merit-covered position. The successful candidate will assist the Regulatory Law section in the performance of statutory duties pursuant to Iowa Code section 474.10 and will provide advice and counsel to the three-member Board and to IUB staff. Duties of this position include review of legal and factual issues in some of the most complex IUB proceedings, preparation of legal memoranda, and writing proposed decisions and orders for the Board that are well-reasoned and defensible. The attorney may defend those decisions in judicial review proceedings and other proceedings in state and federal court, including briefing and oral argument.Other responsib
