Managing Senior Counsel - International Trade Compliance
Current Need
McKesson's General Counsel Organization (GCO) works collaboratively with our business teams and other members of the GCO to help the Company improve health outcomes for all.
McKesson seeks an attorney with significant international trade legal experience, including at least seven (7) years of law firm or in-house (company or government) experience supporting import compliance in the U.S.
Position Description
The Managing Senior Counsel - International Trade Compliance is to ensure that McKesson's business units are following the trade compliance laws and regulations governing importing and exporting activities. This role will oversee implementation and effectiveness of internal trade controls and support the business in compliance with U.S. statutes and regulations. This role will report to McKesson's Managing Chief Counsel, Government Contracting and Global Procurement and advise the Company's various business units on an array of international trade issues.
Primary responsibilities
- Providing critical programmatic guidance and support for trade compliance organization enhancements throughout the enterprise
- Designing and advising on enhancements for trade compliance policies, operating procedures, and internal controls
- Continually monitoring and analyzing the evolving trade laws and regulations applicable to the company, and their impact on business strategy and operations
- Advising on trade compliance risk assessments, audits and complex due diligence reviews, including identifying enhancements and opportunities for improvement
- Developing and delivering trade compliance training
- Support trade compliance-related internal investigations
- Experience in US and global trade controls, including the export controls programs required by BIS, OFAC, and other US agencies
Minimum Qualifications
- Juris Doctor Degree and a member of a State bar
Critical Skills
- Knowledge of U.S. international trade laws
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to provide sound, clear legal advice within the company, including senior business executives
- Ability to adapt communication style depending on the recipient's level of sophistication about legal issues
- Comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently
- Business acumen dealing with risk management and organizational savvy
- Ability to work closely with, facilitate interactions within, and influence large cross-functional teams (including representatives from other areas of the General Counsel Organization regulatory and compliance professionals, sales professionals and operations managers)
- Must be a team player who can develop strong working relationships and work collaboratively with internal clients and other members of the legal team

Our Base Pay Range for this position
$146,800 - $244,600
