Commercial Loan Officer Walpole Co-operative Bank Walpole, MA
Walpole Co-operative Bank is seeking a Commercial Loan Officer, primarily responsible for developing and servicing commercial and construction loans and commercial accounts, originating and servicing most complex credits, and maintaining and developing commercial deposits and new accounts through active business development. The Commercial Loan Officer will also participate in Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) compliance.
Commercial Loan Officer Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
Minimum four years of commercial/construction lending experience; specifically, experience with complex credits
Formal credit training, high level of analysis skills
Extensive knowledge of compliance and legal issues in lending, loan structure and underwriting
Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills

Commercial Loan Officer Job Responsibilities
Actively generate commercial accounts through development of referral network and active business development calls
Originate and close commercial and construction loans; meet with customer/prospect, collect documentation, financial statements and required information
Analyze financial data and credit, structure loan terms and pricing, negotiate details with customer/prospect; work with attorneys regarding negotiations and language
Prepare loan presentations for Loan Committee
Make loan decisions; recommendations to Senior Loan Officer for approvals in excess of lending authority
Follow up on customer needs and obtain updated financial data and documentation as required
Review status of accounts to determine financial condition and viability of business; identify credit risks, perform work outs for problem credits, and ensure proper account documentation
Provide information for bank staff on general lending questions, make decisions on overdrafts for commercial accounts, assist with loan review, foreclosures or OREO dispositions
May participate in selected community and civic organizations; research and identify community credit needs, target and meet needs through product development and promotion
