GENERAL PURPOSE Under the direction of the Information Governance Manager, the Information Governance Analyst will be responsible for deploying and enforcing Information Governance policies and procedures to support the firm's Information Governance initiatives. To comply with Export Control laws, must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident to apply.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation. • Independently prioritize & accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and detail-oriented work environment • Implement and enforce adherence to Information Governance policies to ensure compliance with the firm's legal obligations, operational requirements, and risks. Provide guidance and training to attorneys and staff as necessary • Conduct analysis to advise on best practices for data management • Manage projects and delegate tasks to Information Governance Specialists and other firm staff as necessary • Collaborate with the firm's Legal Hold Counsel to ensure compliance with all legal hold/preservation orders and collection processes. Work with applicable attorneys and staff on the identification and collection of both physical and electronic records • Execute and coordinate processes for physical and electronic records disposition, including email and litigation support data in response to court-ordered document destruction or implementation of firm retention policies • Manage and coordinate scanning activities to ensure projects are completed timely, accurately, and according to Information Governance policies • Coordinate routine audits of physical record inventories • Coordinate processing of electronic and physical records received in conjunction with the onboarding of new lateral attorneys or transfer of new matters to the firm • Independently execute and coordinate Information Governance procedures for collection, review, and release of electronic and physical records necessary to comply with client records transfer requests • Execute records collection and disposition processes related to attorney and staff departures.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED • Work in cloud collaboration systems such as Google G-Suite and Microsoft Office 365 to evaluate use of these environments, provide reporting on space content, and assist with content management • Experience with records management systems such as FileTrail • Experience with document management systems such as iManage DMS or NetDocs • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills • Ability to work well with others as a team • Knowledge of industry best practices and data governance • Experience importing/exporting data to and from document management systems • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain the confidentiality of firm records and information • Ability to work outside of normal working hours when necessary to meet the demands and needs of the firm • Willingness and ability to travel as necessary
SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED • Experience with SFTP/FTP and encryption technology • Experience with workflow management applications such as Service Now • Experience with Cisco WebEx • Familiarity with the management of network file shares • Ability to script in PowerShell or Python
This position may be filled in the following area(s), the compensation range in these area(s) is listed below and depends on qualification and experience. Perkins Coie may provide a discretionary bonus annually and information regarding benefits can be found here.
Washington State compensation range: $60,640 to $88,740 annually

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Sciences, Information Management, or related field. • 5 + years of work experience in legal Records Management, Information Governance, or Data Management. • Professional Certifications in areas related to Information Governance not required but preferred (e.g., Information Governance Professional (IGP), Electronic Records Management (ERM), Certified Records Manager (CRM), Enterprise Content Management (ECM).
