Our well known real estate development client continues to enjoy tremendous growth and expansions of their shopping center and mixed use platforms. SHM Resources has been contracted to conduct a search for a Director of Development. This full- time, yet Hybrid position based in S. CA is key to the overall ground up and redevelopment of mixed use/retail projects throughout the western portion of the US.

This executive level position will support and manage the company's development projects and will manage the entire entitlement process, interact with retailers and municipalities, prepare valuation models, analyze development scenarios for new and existing assets, and assist in project design and planning. This role will also oversee the project consultant team (land use attorneys, architects, engineers, etc.), research municipal land use and zoning requirements, and coordinate with internal leasing, construction, and property management teams.

Responsibilities:

· 4 year degree a must - Civil engineering or architectural background preferred

· Minimum of 5 plus years of directly related mixed use/retail development experience

· Prior experience in zoning, entitlements and land-use issues

· Prior experience in commercial, mixed use and retail real estate development

· Strong background cost estimating and project underwriting

· Ability to travel regionally to project sites - knowledge of S. CA and surrounding states

· Strong MS Office skills, specifically in Excel

· Vendor and consultant oversight experience
