Reporting to the Director, Community Standards, this position assists the Director and the UNH campus as a leader in efforts to promote, enforce, and administer the Student Code of Conduct and foster a safe campus community.The Associate Director has central responsibilities in the oversight of Community Standards which includes: (1) supervising the student conduct coordinator and indirectly supervising student staff members and student interns; (2) providing oversight to investigations managed within the office and training for investigators; (3) serving as a key decision-maker for significant conduct matters including chairing hearing panels; (4) collaborating with key campus stakeholders including legal counsel, the Civil Rights & Equity Office, and the University Police Department; (5) overseeing organizational conduct processes; and (6) serving as a key leader in efforts to review policies and procedures including the Code of Conduct.The Associate Director is responsible for assisting with all leadership responsibilities within Community Standards as deemed appropriate by the Director. This includes: (1) educating the community about the Code of Conduct; (2) recruiting and training conduct officers; (3) interfacing with students, families, and attorneys; (4) developing and implementing training for campus stakeholders related to UNHâs conduct procedures; and (5) developing and implementing assessment initiatives. The Associate Director should have strong communication and collaboration skills. The Associate Director must be dedicated to helping promote a safe and responsible campus community.
Bachelor's Degree2-4 years of professional experience working in a student conduct office and/or with student conduct systems or other related experience including experience with conflict/dispute resolution, mediation, investigations, and/or legal practice;Strong working knowledge of Title IX, FERPA, due process, and student conduct best practices;Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion;Strong interpersonal and communications skills;Strong organizational, planning, analytic, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills;Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including effective public speaking);Excellent judgment; ability to handle sensitive cases and ability to exercise judgment about when to seek legal advice;Ability to effectively manage projects and balance multiple priorities while maintaining a positive outlook and working effectively in a collaborative environment.
