Summary: In addition to assisting the Director of Advancement and External Affairs in implementing the ongoing advancement plan, the Assistant Director of Advancement has specific responsibility for all Major Giving and work closely with the Director of Advancement on any fundraising campaigns, strategic planning and other initiatives in progress. The Assistant Director of Advancement for Fundraising Programs staffs one or more constituent councils and/or committees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following (other responsibilities may be assigned):

Major and General Giving

Assistant Director of Advancement for fundraising is responsible for the comprehensive implementation of the Major and General Giving programs for current parents, alumni families, alumni, grandparents, and friends of the school.

Capital and Endowment Campaigns

• Track solicitation activity and report on progress of campaign(s)
• Guide and support meeting schedule of volunteer leaders
• Develop campaign strategy and implement mail campaigns to targeted constituents
• Support capital campaign efforts with prospect research, prospect tracking, revenue pipelines, gift reporting and stewardship specific to donors and foundations using best practices
• Work with the Database Manager to keep accurate prospect and donor records, as well as oversee weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting for campaigns.
• Manage all grant writing for foundations and granting institutions
• Assist in the coordination of cultivation and stewardship events

Annual Fund Campaign

• Work with the Director of Annual Fund to develop annual strategy and oversee the fundraising efforts of the annual fund office
• Work with Advancement team to manage priority prospects ad share findings in a coordinated effort to solicit effectively and efficiently using Moves Management.
• Work with the Director of Annual Giving and Director of Communications to produce the Annual Report and fundraising collaterals.

Planned Giving Campaign

• Develop and execute a plan, including specific goals and timetable, to market, cultivate, solicit, and recognize gifts of estates, trusts, real estate and various other financial vehicles that reflect financial planning and deferred giving opportunities.
• Collaborate with the Director of Advancement and business office that all systems and processes from gift documentation and reporting are accurate and tailored to align with the needs of the school and the donor and their financial planner and attorney.

General and Department

• Oversee record keeping for fundraising campaigns
• Manage data analytics for fundraising campaigns
• Contribute in Advancement Department meetings to the strategy and implementation of the ongoing campaign fundraising program
• Coordinate budget information for relevant programs as part of annual budget cycle
• Responsible for recognition, acknowledgement and stewardship of volunteers who are part of the fundraising and volunteer programs.
• Represents CEE at CASE/NAIS, CAPS and other relevant professional organizations

Professional and Personal Qualifications: Eight or more years of experience in fundraising for schools or not-for-profit organization(s), preferably in the areas of solicitation, constituency development, stewardship and volunteer management. Experience with annual, capital, and planned giving campaigns necessary.

Excellent interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence (EQ), and the ability to enjoy getting to know the school's diverse constituencies. Strong organizational and managerial skills, preferably with experience guiding volunteers. Ability to conduct effective, stimulating meetings. A cooperative team approach with colleagues and willingness to take on responsibilities beyond those explicitly defined. Good sense of humor and ability to be part of a closely interactive team of six advancement professionals. Exceptional writing and communication skills. Collaborative and inclusive decision-making style.

Technical Qualifications: Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications and preferably with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge. Willingness to provide one's own general clerical support.

At minimum an undergraduate degree is required. 8+ years of annual, capital, and planning giving campaign experience with a school or organization.
