Under direct supervision this position is the first person a student encounters when seeking assistance from Student Affairs or the Office of the Registrar. This position serves as a "navigator" to help JD day and evening students, foreign trained attorneys in our LLM program, and non-lawyer masters students in our MLS program; identifies the requirements and resources relevant to their needs. The Student Services Coordinator will perform various administrative duties in support of Student Services, including the Office of the Registrar (OTR), the Office of Student Affairs, and Graduate Programs. The Student Services Coordinator will organize and coordinate several social and educational workshops and events to support students and foster a positive student experience.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
1. Advise students generally on academic rules, policies, procedures, graduation requirements and course requirements and prerequisites.
2. Respond to routine inquiries, handle intake for student petitions or concerns, and route them to the appropriate staff member in OTR or Student Affairs. Typical issues that give rise to student questions, concerns, and petitions include matters pertaining to:
a. Course eligibility and registration.
b. Exam issues.
c. Exigent or emergent personal circumstances that have an impact on a student's academics.
3. Handle confidential information regarding students, controversial matters, and affairs of personal delicacy.
4. Serve as Student Services liaison on Career Development Office Student Advisory board.
5. Assist in coordinating between Alumni Relations, OTR and Student Affairs to provide Alumni Relations with information about pending graduates for commencement. Coordinate with faculty, staff, and Alumni Relations regarding the selection and identification of graduation award recipients.
6. Perform various skilled clerical and administrative duties in support of Student Services such as:
a. Monitor Student Affairs and OTR general email accounts to ensure prompt office response to student inquiries.
b. Assist with Student Affairs and OTR phone calls and response.
c. Assist with Career Development Office job postings during peak times.
7. Assist with organizing and coordinating events and workshops including:
a. Orientation for JD, graduate program and transfer students.
b. Student events hosted by the Dean and/or Student Affairs.
c. Annual social events for LLM and MLS students (including scheduling, catering, invitations and RSVPs), such as:
i. LLM Thanksgiving Dinner
ii. MLS Bowling Night (fall)
iii. MLS Dinner with the Dean (spring)
iv. LLM & MLS Graduation Dinners
d. Student wellness workshops and information sessions.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The Law School reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Requisite Qualifications:
* Typically a high school diploma and at least two years of experience working with students in higher education. Bachelor's degree preferred. International study abroad experience or degree in International Studies preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes in student services.
* Demonstrated knowledge of higher education administrative practices and procedures; knowledge of policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including FERPA and Title IX.
* Strong working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, software applications and databases (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience presenting to students at workshops.
* Detail oriented and ability to train or assist others with technology.
* Ability to update standard information and data to website (T4 user experience).
* Ability to perform and manage a wide variety of specialized duties.
