Job Summary: The IT Technical Specialist II performs a broad scope of professional IT activities requiring experienced, professional knowledge and application of IT principles, practices and procedures. Usually requires evaluation, originality or ingenuity.

Additional Department Summary: The Web Communications Specialist will also be responsible for building, managing, maintaining, updating, redesigning and optimizing the web and online presence and digital footprint of the National Center on Forensics which will formally establish the partnership among the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences (a full-service independent State level Department of Forensic Science with a Medical Examiner function), The University of Alabama, and the statewide Alabama District Attorney’s Association.

The position is a soft-funded position. Continuance is based upon availability of funding.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree; OR Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of IT experience; OR Associate’s degree and three (3) years of IT experience; OR High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years of IT experience. Must have at least one (1) year of experience designing and/or building websites (student experience will be considered).

Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a web designer. Experience with the creation of websites and website design data scripting and development tools including HTML, CSS, JavaScript,.NET and other client-side languages where appropriate. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite products, CRMs, SEO, Google Analytics, and PC and Mac systems.
