Legal Career Center

Advise and represent UNL students in misdemeanor criminal and civil litigation. Responsibilities will include legal research, negotiation, resolving legal issues and court representation. Prepare and deliver educational presentations to UNL students on legal topics of importance to them.

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school required. Must be a member in good standing of the Nebraska State Bar Association or eligible for admission by October 1, 2019. Experience in civil and criminal litigation necessary. Demonstrated commitment to public service essential. Demonstrated proficiency with public speaking, presentations, and training audiences required. Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at a professional and legal level both verbally and in writing. Available to work occasional evenings and weekends necessary.

Educational focus in litigation preferred. Experience using research tools such as Casemaker, Westlaw, or Lexis-Nexis. Proficient in Google Apps and Microsoft Office Work and Excel desirable. Experience practicing in Lancaster County and District Courts helpful.
