Stockbridge is an established real estate investment firm with $28 billion in AUM across a wide range of investment strategies and asset types across the U.S with offices in San Francisco, Atlanta, and Chicago.
This role is part of the Core and Value Advisors (“CVA”) business, which includes both funds and separate accounts with asset strategies ranging from core and value-add to ground-up development. The asset management analyst will work on a collaborative team directly supporting Vice President(s) on target markets such as New York, Miami, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, and Denver on behalf of CVA. Stockbridge is at the forefront of the Supply Chain Infrastructure (SCI) investment strategy focusing on property types including truck terminals, trailer/container storage yards, and equipment maintenance facilities. The role focuses on SCI properties as well as Class A industrial assets ranging from 150,000 – 1,200,000 square feet. This is both a qualitative and quantitative position; strong analytical, written, and presentation skills are necessary.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support Asset Manager(s) on a $500+ million portfolio of industrial properties across the United States
- Prepare financial models for internal property valuations, dispositions, recapitalizations, and lease analyses
- Assist in the preparation, review, and execution of annual business plans and budgets
- Accompany Asset Managers on property visits and market tours
- Provide oversight and develop strong relationships with joint-venture partners, third-party property managers, leasing brokers, and attorneys
- Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for Investment Committee including disposition and capital project approval memorandums
Skills and Competencies:
- All candidates must have a BA or BS degree from an accredited institution, with preferred degrees in real estate, finance, business, accounting, economics or related area. Must have strong academic credentials
- 1-3 years of real estate/finance experience, preferably including one or more of the following: portfolio analysis, commercial real estate valuation, cash flow forecasting, acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, debt
- Industrial experience preferred but not required
- Proven analytical skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of discounted cash flow analysis in Argus Enterprise and Excel required
- Ability to draw conclusions from research and data analysis and communicate findings effectively
- Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to function both in a team-oriented setting and independently
- Strong sense of personal motivation, responsibility, and entrepreneurship
