General Purpose Under the sole direction of the City Council, the City Attorney serves as the chief legal advisor to the City, including the City Council, City Boards and Commissions, City Manager, and City staff relating to all of their official duties. The City Attorney will attend City Council meetings and will be responsible for providing legal advice to the City, reviewing or preparing ordinances, resolutions, bonds, contracts, policies, and other written instruments, prosecuting ordinance violations, and representing the City in court and administrative matters.
