Job Summary
Under general supervision, provides forensic evaluations as a doctoral level psychologist. This position exists to perform and ensure the quality and timely completion of court-ordered evaluations and reports required by Denver County Courts and other evaluations referred to the Forensic Psychiatry Service. The evaluator is authorized to represent the Department in communication to Judges and Courts directly. A forensic evaluator must be a licensed psychologist by Colorado Statute. This position performs competency evaluations or any other forensic evaluation referred to the Service and provides a written report, containing a professional opinion to the courts and both attorneys assigned to a defendant's case. May participate in supervision and teaching for doctoral psychology trainees as a member of the Division of Psychology. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Education and Experience 1. Doctoral degree in Psychology. 2. 4000 hours supervised clinical service, including completion of doctoral internship and one year postdoctoral experience. 3. 2000 hours providing behavioral health services in a related setting. 4. Forensic Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship and competency evaluation experience preferred but not required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Advanced knowledge and skills in effective psychological practice in primary care medical settings. 2. Is able to provide psychodiagnostic assessment, intervention and patient education for patients commonly seen in the correctional care setting. 3. Possesses skills needed to participate effectively in a leadership role with the multidisciplinary team and to provide teaching to other members of the behavioral health team and trainees. 4. Can participate as a faculty member with the psychology internship and training program. 5. Possesses advanced written and oral communication skills. Computers and Technology 1. N/A Certificates, Licenses and Registration 1. Licensed as a Psychologist by the State of Colorado. All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment. Supervisory Responsibilities This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, coaching, supervision, fostering teamwork, training and development of one or more employees.
