The individual in this position will be accountable for:
Collaborating with the advancement team to develop and manage a comprehensive plan to research, identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects at the $25,000+ level, including setting specific goals and timetables
Supervising the Major Gifts Officer in establishing and achieving goals, timetables, and appropriate strategies for assigned prospects
Conducting regular prospect visits with the goal of soliciting major and planned gift prospects
Working with the Prospect Research and Gift Coordinator to identify and research major and planned gift prospects and analyzing information in order to structure strategies
Developing and executing a plan, including specific goals and timetable, to market, cultivate, solicit and recognize planned gifts
Serving as a planned giving resource to the advancement team and maintaining up-to-date knowledge
Working in cooperation with the Business Office, financial estate planners, and attorneys
Managing and executing the stewardship of all named endowed funds including recognition events
Assuring an effective program for foundation relations and timely proposal submission
Attending key Dana Hall events to interact with donors and prospects, including travel and occasional evenings and weekends
Candidates must have: a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred; over 5 years of fundraising and donor management work experience with a proven record of success; knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Apps; experience with Raiser’s Edge/NXT a plus.
Successful candidates will possess: excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; an ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people; excellent written and oral skills and an ability to articulate the School’s mission and priorities; the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with utmost discretion; the qualities of a proactive self-starter and a collaborative member of the advancement team; the ability to explain Dana Hall’s planned giving program and vehicles for giving (e.g., charitable remainder trusts, bequests, etc.) Candidates must be able to remain seated for extended periods.
This is a twelve-month, full-time position reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer.
