Duties and Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the Director of the Transactional Law Services Group and under the supervision of one or more attorneys in OGC, the successful candidate will:
draft and review agreements for a wide range of commercial transactions, including real estate purchase, lease, and license agreements and related amendments;
draft and review sponsorship agreements, liability releases, and construction bond forms;
maintain and update form contracts in the OGC’s standard contracts library;
respond to and make client inquiries;
research legal and factual questions and draft research memos; and
perform other duties as assigned by the General Counsel, the Director or an attorney in OGC.
The University of Minnesota’s Office of the General Counsel is seeking a paralegal who has commercial transactional experience. Depending on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications, the hire will be for a Paralegal or Senior Paralegal.
Required: The successful candidate must possess each of the following:
2 - 4 years of experience as a paralegal
AA degree or Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved institution or the Minnesota Paralegal Association
Desired: Experience in commercial real estate transactions
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated strong attention to detail
Demonstrated outstanding analytical and interpersonal skills and cross cultural competencies
Demonstrated highest level of integrity and professionalism
